On October 7th at 2:30 in the afternoon at Blocksidge Field in Swampscott, Swampscott Big Blue will face off against the Lynn English Bulldogs in a tense football match.

Coming off a 33-7 victory over Salem, Big Blue is rolling into this game undefeated at 4-0. Lynn English is also undefeated, recently coming from a blowout of their own, defeating the Saugus Sachems 46-22.

When regarding the improvements made and preparations taken leading up to the game, offensive guard and nose tackle for Big Blue, Mason Shultz said “The whole team has really stepped up, we’ve been practicing early every week, watching film, and working together independently [without the coaches] to improve.” The entire team has been closely watching Lynn English’s film to look out for tendencies in their game. In Mason’s case, as an offensive lineman, he said he’s “closely watching the defensive line and linebackers to identify their playstyle in order to adjust accordingly.”

Although this is an important game against an undefeated team, Swampscott is “treating this as any other game” and their heading into the match with “confidence and a winning mentality”, said Shultz.
